GIS Staff Jason

GIS Director - Jason Shellhammer

Jason is the GIS Director for Carbon County GIS. Jason administers the GIS program for Carbon County. His responsibilities include managing the GIS Public Services, GIS Data Warehouses, and the GIS office daily functions. The Director’s responsibilities also include creation and maintenance of GIS data pertinent to County functions and operations, authoring all relevant principal project data and efforts. He is also responsible for the coordination of local government mapping initiatives and projects, facilitating relationships across that spectrum.

Jason is a veteran of the US Air Force, and Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education for Citizenship Education from Kutztown University. Jason started his career with the County of Carbon in 2014.

In his personal time Jason occasionally assists others with GIS Mapping. He also enjoys travel, dining, visiting local attractions, and fishing.

Jason is your primary contact for Data Purchases, GIS Online Services, Projects, Custom Data Work, and Local Government Q & A related to GIS.

GIS Technician – Fran Heaney

Fran is a GIS Technician for Carbon County GIS.  Fran is responsible for daily maintenance and enhancement of Carbon County GIS’s landbase data.  Fran is new to GIS, and brings a refreshing aptitude and enthusiasm to the field.  Fran Heaney, has spent several years in the Clerk of Courts office, as the Clerk of Courts.   She brings a unique breadth of knowledge about the criminal justice system, that translates well to the County’s ever-expanding mapping efforts.  Those unique skill sets create a dynamic resource to County.

Fran is in the training phase of her career, and will be your contact for all things real estate related.
