Notice of Change in Filing Fees
Recent legislation at the State level has effected a change in the filing fees for all Recording Offices throughout the Commonwealth. Acts 40 and 44 of 2017 recently signed by the Governor of Pennsylvania make immediate changes to the Judicial Computer System/Access to Justice/Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (JCS/ATJ/CJEA) surcharges. See complete announcement here. This is a State mandated change to the surcharges that forces Counties to increase their filing fees charged to consumers. These increased fees are realized by the State government and no portion of the fees are retained at the County level. The Acts mentioned above only pertain to specific fees, as a courtesy, the Carbon County Office of the Recorder of Deeds, in conjunction with the Office of Information Technology have made note of these specific changes on the “Fee Schedule” Recorder of Deeds web page by showing the affected fees in italics. The increased fees become effective November 30th, 2017. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
