Proposed New Voting Districts in Carbon County:

The Carbon County Board of Elections is preparing petitions to submit to the Court of Common Pleas to create additional polling places in the Townships of East Penn, Lower Towamensing, Penn Forest and Towamensing.  It is the goal of the board to have the petitions submitted to the court by May of 2008.  Hearing dates will then be established and advertised during which time citizens affected by the proposed plan will be able to attend and to voice their comments.  The goal of the board is to have these plans approved by the court in time for the November 4, 2008 General Election.  Updates on the progress of the county's re-districting plans will be available on this site as the process moves forward.
