Shelter in Place

Checklist:

• Get inside
• Remember outside pets and farm animals
• Close and lock all doors and windows
• Turn off air conditioners, ventilation systems or heating units pulling outside air
• Find a suitable room to use for shelter in place (preferably no windows)
• Seal any windows with plastic and tape or wet towels
• Tune into your local TV or radio station for emergency instructions
• Snacks and games may help the time go faster
• Do not use the telephone unless it is an emergency
• Battery powered radio and lots of extra batteries
• Don't come out unless you are notified by local media or emergency officials
