LANTA manages the Carbon County Community Transportation (CCCT) system on behalf of the County of Carbon. Door-to-door and fixed route bus service is available within Carbon County between all of the boroughs and to several points outside of the county including the Mall in Whitehall, Lehigh County. CCCT is a service sponsored by Carbon County in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Shared Ride Lottery Program and the Rural Transit Division, and the Federal Transit Administration.
WHO IS CCCT?
Carbon County has retained the Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority (LANTA), based in Allentown, to manage the Carbon County Community Transit System. LANTA has contracted with the Palmeri Travelways Corporation, based in Folks Township, Northampton County, to oversee day-to-day operations.
CCCT offers van services from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Customers must register for the service, purchase tickets and call in advance to reserve their trips. Call-in hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday. For services needed the following day, customers must call by 2 p.m. the day before. The reservation number is: 570-669-6380.

FIXED ROUTE, CARBON COUNTY PLAZA SERVICE
CCCT operates fixed-route service - The Lynx - on a regular, daily basis, Monday through Saturday. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, two round trips are operated connecting the boroughs in the County to the Carbon County Plaza. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, one round trip operates along this same route within the County to the Plaza and to the regional Mall area in Whitehall, Lehigh County. Fares for travel within Carbon are $1.50; fares for travel beyond County limits are $2.50.
Seniors, 65 or older, may ride The Lynx free of charge. A State issued Transit ID or the Medicare Card is accepted as proof of age. For application information about this free-ride program which is sponsored by the State Lottery Program, call the CCCT offices at 570-669-6380.
For persons who are unable to get to the fixed pick-up points because of some physical or mental impairment, and who live within 3/4 miles of the fixed-route, arrangements can be made in advance to provide door-to-door service.
